Day 6!!! Saturday

Today, I was supposed to do the Kenpo exercise. However, I didn't do it. Long story short, I had tons of things to do and by the time I was done- I had no energy. Besides that- I am feeling very soar.

My diet was also a challenge for me. I guess in the last 5 days it has been easy for me to stick with a diet b/c I organize my food and pack it for work. But on the weekends I am constantly faced w/ a challenge to keep on the healthy side. With that being said- this is my food log:

Breakfast: Chicken Salad w/ crackers (left overs from Friday)
Snack: Fiber One Bar
Lunch: 1 cup brown rice w/ stringed beans and saltfish w/ dhal (stew split peas)
Snack: 1/2 bagel w/ natural peanut butter
Dinner: Turkey Burger w/ tons of veggies.

I know- it's not the best but, at least I didn't go running to Wendy's like I really wanted to. So I accomplished something.

Sunday I will be pushing play 2x with Yoga X & Stretch X to try and get these kinks out of my body.

Pushing Play :-)

Reverse Grip Chin ups: 8/20

Wide Front Pull ups: 20/19

Until next time..... Push Play

Small Steps in the right direction.

Since Monday, I've been doing all the extra walking I can. I park at the back of the parking lot at work and the stores. I walk up as many stairs as I can. And since the toilet and I are really good friends b/c of the amount of water I drink, I even do squats when I go to the public bathrooms- LMFAO!!!!! ( I bet you never thought of that- hehehehe). At my job, we have a 2 community printers in my department instead of printing my info at the printer closest to my cubicle (3ft away), I print my documents at the further printer (on the other side of the large department). When conducting interviews, I take the candidates on a tour of the entire building (only 3 floors- but it has 3 wings) So I'm trying to keep as active as possible, considering the fact that I sit all day long.

So, my dear friends, if you are in a similar position as myself, or even if you're not- you should try some of these methods- remember small efforts can lead to BIG change.

Oh yeah!! HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!

Day 4- YOGA X (UGH!!!!)

Today was my yoga x day. OMGoodness!!! What the hell was I thinking- waking up 5 AM just to be put back to sleep by some Yoga video. LOL. I put my best foot forward- but the music was way to soft and even Tony was talking all soft and gentle- which made him sound weird to me. In all honesty, I did a total of 15 minutes of this video and I couldn't squeeze another minute out if I had to. At first I was thinking, "DAMN!!! this sh!t is depressing- but after viewing it, I realized that its a strength AND flexibility training. You have to be strong in order to hold your self in certain positions, but you also have to flexible & have balance.

^^^^^^^^^^^If yoga x can make me do this^^^^^^^^^^

I'm definitely not giving up on Yoga. I'm sure my fiance would love it- as will I. LOL.

So I've made a conscious decision to do Yoga X in the evenings. This way, I'd have enough energy to make it through the work out. I'm going to focus on the 1st 45 minutes of Yoga X for during the weekdays and then I'll try the 2nd half of the video on Sunday's with my Stretch X workout.

Wow!!! I never knew yoga could be so strenuous. I guess I'm a fast paced/high impact type of girl- but I can step out of my box and give Yoga X a real good try.

Push Play- Everyday.

Temptations!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes people, the temptations will be a real challenge during our climb to weight loss success. I already have 2 stories lined up for you regarding this topic. Coincidentally, both incidents happened at work. Tuesday afternoon (during that 3PM hour when you're feeling tired & hungry) my coworker walked over to my desk with a plate of chocolate lava cake and pastries. OMG!!! Any one who knows me, knows I love chocolate. I think back to J.H.S. when I used to go to the corner store and stock up on my chocolate for a day. It became so much of an addiction that I gave it up for Lent on year. .... anyway- I love chocolate. It makes do a happy dance (literally).

So my coworker turns to me and says, "do you want to split this?
Me: " Nah! I'm good
Her: Come on, I'm trying to be good, I don't want to eat this whole thing- why don't you take half?
Me: Well if you were really trying to be good, you wouldn't have any- don't try to bring me down too.
Both: laughing

But she kept pressuring me and so did some other girls- now keep in mind that the chocolate lover inside of me was saying "girl you better eat that damn cake" so I had a lot inspiration to just that. So I gave in and said, OK, I'll take a piece. So I cut a very small piece of the lava cake (approx- 2 spoonfuls) and put it on a plate. I waited for everyone to continue what they were doing and then it happened............ I through that mess away. OMG!! Me!!! I did it!!! I can't believe I threw away chocolate- but it's what had to be done to keep on track- so I don't have no regrets.

Today- the entire team went to Chili's and of course tried to motivate me to come along with them. Needless to say- I said no b/c I didn't want to be eating salad while everyone else were enjoying burgers and ribs. Besides, I brought in my bagged lunch of food, fruits and yogurt- I'm all set. So I stayed away from that temptation all together.

So my tip of the day is.. stay focused. I know it can be challenging but you have to keep your head strong. Remember that you want to lose X amount of weight/inches and do what's necessary to achieve that. You will be happy with yourself if you walk away.

Day 2- P90x

Hey everyone,

Today was Plyometrics. I have to say that I really enjoyed this work out. My heart rate was up, up, up. I was breaking a sweat and I felt great aferwards. Some of the moves were sucking all the energy out of me- but I did my best and forgot the rest. I had to push really hard to push through the last 10 minutes and I made it. All in all- Plyo is a great cardio workout.

Today I had the following meal plan:

1. Oatmeal w/ blueberries & brown sugar
2. Banana
3. Stew Chicken w/ rice & 1 cup of steamed veggies
4. Fiber 1 strawberry
5. Shredded beef in a whole wheat wrap.

I had some serious temptation today at work. My supervisor brought the team chocolate lava cake. OMG!!! It looked and smelled so good. My colleagues were trying so hard to make me eat it. (keep in mind that one's preganant and the other one is rail thin). Anywho- I didn't cave. In order to make them feel better I took a small piece and put it on my desk. When no one was looking- I threw that mess away- LOL and then I said " mmmmmmmm, that was so damn good" SMH! Thank goodness for will power.

Tomorrow morning I will be hitting Shoulders & Arms/ Ab Ripper X.

P90x Day 1 Complete

Hey Everyone,

Today was my first day on P90x. That means I had to do chest/back and ab ripper x. I got up at 5:15 AM and started working out. But due to my lack of time management- I had to cut my chest/back exercise in half. However, when I returned home from work this afternoon- I immediatley completed the video and did Ab ripper. Now ARX was tough for me. Wow! I had to stop a couple of times- press pause and keep pushing myself until my body was completly exhausted. I am very satisfied with my efforts today. I kept pushing myself.

My meals for today was:
1. Eggwhites w/ spinach, mushrooms, onions, 2 turkey sausage links and mozzorella cheese in a small wrap
2. Banana
3. Turkey burger w/ garden salad and vinegrette
4. fat free yogurt & fiber snack bar
5. Chicken w/ california blend veggies and brown rice
6. Lets not forget the TONS of water I drank. (the bathroom and I are best friends now)

I also logged what I was able to accomplish during my chest/back workout. Here is what I accomplished:

Round 1/Round 2
15/21standard push ups
20/7 pull ups ( red resistance bands)
10/9 military push ups
30/10reverse pullups (I used the red & blue resistance bands)
18/17 wide fly push ups
15 /10 closed grip overhand pull ups
8/4 decline push ups
22/14 heavy pants
15/7 diamond push ups
10/15 L&R lawn mowers each side
15/5 dive bombers
10/11 back flys

So tomorrow- I have to hit Plyometrics 5Am in the morning. I am determined to get the entire thing complete in the morning.

Best of Luck People Keep Pushing Play.

Getting Ready

Today, I started my long list of shopping for workout material and food. I lucked out with a weight set from walmart for $20. Yes!!! I also, got my resistance bands and my pull up bar (which can be used for push ups and tricep dips). I still have a long way to go with the shopping list- I still have to stack up on food, vitamins and other healthy goodies.
