Day 20- May 8

Happy Saturday!!!!
In my area it's looking gloomy and the skies are ready to open up and rain on our heads. But the clouds can't put a damper on my spirits today. So I already told you the story of the "energy sucking burrito". So I didn't work out yesterday.

Oh but wait, I definitely got my WORKOUTS (yes plural) in today. So after getting a very good nights sleep. I popped out of bed at 7AM today. I said "Thank you God for blessing me with another day of life- time to push play".

1st workout was Legs & Back- oh yes!!! I was trembling with the fear that I wouldn't be able to stand at the end of it all. But I made it happen, I did great on the pull up bars also. I'm still using the chair with support, but I'm hoping that by the end of the 90 day I'll be doing some pull ups w/o the chair assistance

2nd workout was Ab Ripper X. For the 1st time in 3 weeks I did every single one of those moves with 25+ reps. Wow!! I'm patting myself on the back. It took me longer to complete- so I had to keep pressing pause. Those suckers are fast. However, my lower back hurts a lot when I do some of these moves. I'm assuming it's because my abs aren't strong enough, but in time, I'll fix that problem. (If you have any suggestions- send them my way).

3rd workout- yes that's right- was Kenpo X. (aaarrrrggggghhhh). Kenpo had me sweating even harder than Legs & Back. I so love this routine- although, my mind kept drifting off into an imaginary land where I was able to fly off of buildings and kick ass (like those action flicks). LMAO. But it kept me moving- hey- you never know when Quentin Tarenteno may come knocking on my door. LMAO

4th and Final Workout... was Yoga X. I don't know who told me that I should do this damn Yoga- but my mind was set and I was determined to do this damn routine. I have to admit, my original disdain for Yoga has completely changed. I enjoyed every single one of this 90 minute exercise. I can feel more flexibility coming in. I kicked @$$ during the poses and at the end- I felt so good with my legs crossed, eyes closed and saying "OOOHHHHHMMMMMMMM" lol

YES I DID IT!!! I did 4 workouts TODAY (if you consider ARX) and I did it from start to end. I feel so good and accomplished. I worked out from 7AM- 10:45AM. Yes, it was a long morning, but well worth the effort.

I hope you got up and pushed play.

Day 19- Friday, May 7

Hey All,
Ok, so lets get down to business...... I didn't work out on Friday. Ok, maybe I should back track a little bit. Today I went to work and didn't carry my lunch. I brought fruits and bar and soup, but didn't prepare a sandwich to go with it. So I originally decided to get a turkey sandwich or grille chicken sandwich. Long story short, that didn't happen, I ended up going to Baja Fresh. Now this was my 1st time at this place and they claimed that everything was grilled and fresh. So I decided to get a burrito- I though it would be a safe bet.

My burrito consisted of - grilled steak, salsa, avocado, rice, black beans and tons of peppers ( I like very spicy food), sounds healthy to me- no sour cream or cheese.

So here I am thinking, this should be OK....... NOT!!!! I ate 1/2 of my burrito and within 10 minutes I felt EXHAUSTED. I mean- I was so damn tired, I literally was nodding off to sleep at work. I had to go to the restroom and wash my face to revive myself. So I kept asking myself- "Why am I so damn tired?" Then it clicked- my meal wasn't healthy for me.

Now I am so happy that this happened to me. Not for the fact that I ate something bad, but, because I learned a valuable lesson. Prior to starting P90x and eating healthy- I used to get tired at work ALL THE TIME after having lunch. That 3PM slump used to hit me really hard. I didn't realize the difference in my energy level at work until this "little mishap." Now that I'm eating a lot better, watching what I put into my mouth- there's no longer a 3PM slump. I'm energetic throughout the entire day. I run up and down 3 flights of stairs all day long and I don't feel tired at all.

So when I returned home in the evening the tiredness continued. Normally I go to bed around 10/11PM, Friday night I went to sleep at 8PM!!!! Huh!!!! And it's a Friday. I think my body went into shock, b/c I could barely keep my eyes open, so there was no energy to workout. LOL.

Lesson learned- no more burritos for me. I'm staying away from that danger zone.
