Oh yes people, the temptations will be a real challenge during our climb to weight loss success. I already have 2 stories lined up for you regarding this topic. Coincidentally, both incidents happened at work. Tuesday afternoon (during that 3PM hour when you're feeling tired & hungry) my coworker walked over to my desk with a plate of chocolate lava cake and pastries. OMG!!! Any one who knows me, knows I love chocolate. I think back to J.H.S. when I used to go to the corner store and stock up on my chocolate for a day. It became so much of an addiction that I gave it up for Lent on year. .... anyway- I love chocolate. It makes do a happy dance (literally).
So my coworker turns to me and says, "do you want to split this?
Me: " Nah! I'm good
Her: Come on, I'm trying to be good, I don't want to eat this whole thing- why don't you take half?
Me: Well if you were really trying to be good, you wouldn't have any- don't try to bring me down too.
Both: laughing
But she kept pressuring me and so did some other girls- now keep in mind that the chocolate lover inside of me was saying "girl you better eat that damn cake" so I had a lot inspiration to just that. So I gave in and said, OK, I'll take a piece. So I cut a very small piece of the lava cake (approx- 2 spoonfuls) and put it on a plate. I waited for everyone to continue what they were doing and then it happened............ I through that mess away. OMG!! Me!!! I did it!!! I can't believe I threw away chocolate- but it's what had to be done to keep on track- so I don't have no regrets.
Today- the entire team went to Chili's and of course tried to motivate me to come along with them. Needless to say- I said no b/c I didn't want to be eating salad while everyone else were enjoying burgers and ribs. Besides, I brought in my bagged lunch of food, fruits and yogurt- I'm all set. So I stayed away from that temptation all together.
So my tip of the day is.. stay focused. I know it can be challenging but you have to keep your head strong. Remember that you want to lose X amount of weight/inches and do what's necessary to achieve that. You will be happy with yourself if you walk away.
